What is NuShield?

NuShield is a dehydrated placental membrane. Placental membranes have been used for decades to cover wounds and support healing.

Aftercare

Managing your dressings: NuShield typically requires no maintenance. Your doctor will provide you with instructions on your dressings. Following the application of NuShield, avoid getting the dressings and surrounding areas wet. When bathing, keep your wound and dressings away from the water. Call your doctor if your dressings get wet.

Follow all Instructions. Be sure to follow all instructions provided by your doctor. It is very important to follow these instructions and not to disturb the graft. Contact your doctor with any questions or concerns.

It is very important to keep your follow-up visits and to follow your doctor's directions carefully. If you have any signs of infection such as tenderness to the touch, redness, pain, heat, and/or swelling, contact your doctor immediately.

These instructions are designed to serve only as a general guideline and not to supersede your doctor's instructions.

Patient Assistance Program

Organogenesis is committed to providing access to NuShield for those most in need through the Patient Assistance Program. This program can assist patients with limited financial resources who also have no public or private insurance coverage.

To be eligible for this Program, the patient must:

  • Be a U.S. resident
  • Supply proof of income (1040 Tax Form or SSI statement along with application completed and signed)
  • Have no public or private insurance coverage—this program is not a co-payment assistance program
