Organogenesis Awards Annual Regenerative Medicine College Scholarship to Canton High School Senior

CANTON, MA – August 18, 2011—Organogenesis, Inc. has awarded its annual scholarship program for a Canton High School graduating senior pursuing a career in life sciences research or biomedical engineering. The 2011 recipient is John-Paul Burega, who will be attending Bridgewater State University in the fall with a concentration in biochemistry.

John-Paul graduated Canton High School with a GPA of 3.78. In addition to his academic career, John-Paul was also active in the drama club at CHS.

"We are proud to support John-Paul in pursuing his academic and career goals," said Gary S. "We hope his example will inspire other talented students to consider a career in the sciences."

The Organogenesis Scholarship of $2,500 is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and content of an essay, How do you see yourself contributing to the future of the Life Sciences? John-Paul's essay detailed his hopes to prepare for a future career as a research scientist with a leading hospital, and to contribute to medical advances that will benefit patients with cancer and with HIV.
